Candice began her professional journey as a practicing attorney, spending 17 years advocating for clients and developing a deep appreciation for the complexities of human experience. Before her clinical training in psychotherapy, Candice earned her Juris Doctor at Columbia Law School, and Master of Science degree at Pace University in mental health counseling, where she is currently studying as a PhD student and teaches undergraduates as an adjunct lecturer in the psychology department. While completing her MS, Candice received clinical training at the Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy under the mentorship of OCD expert Dr. Steven Phillipson. Candice holds a limited permit in Mental Health Counseling in New York (MHC-LP) and is a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey (LAC). Candice is supervised by Dr. Jermann.

Candice applies modern, evidence-based approaches to treatment. Her work primarily integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients understand how thoughts influence emotions and behaviors; Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety; and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which teaches clients to unhook from unhelpful thoughts and turn toward what truly matters. For couples, Candice applies the Gottman Method, having completed Level III training. Her approach often begins with psychoeducation and skill-building, then deepens into collaborative exploration and goal-oriented change-making.

Beyond her clinical work, Candice enjoys knitting and sewing, reading, and enjoying sports games and theater with her husband and teenage kids. She values curiosity, openness, and helping others reconnect with their own inner advocate.
